Disease / Metabolic Syndrome

The Metabolic Syndrome is defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as follows:

Impaired glucose tolerance
Or insulin resistance
Or Type 2 Diabetes
   
Plus two of the following:
 
Obesity (abdominal or severe)
Dyslipidaemia
Hypertension
Microalbuminuria
Impaired glucose tolerance or Type 2 Diabetes
Insulin resistance
   
The common denominator for all diseases in the Metabolic Syndrome is an increased activity of the hormone cortisol. This effect of increased cortisol secretion is not possible to counteract with any agent available in the current market.
