Phase IIb study

Cortendo Invest AB will now enter into a phase IIb study and expected time for start is 2004. The main aim of the study is to study the effect of treatment during longer time periods. The duration of the study is planned to be 6 month as compared to 3 months in the IIa study. Furthermore the parameters to be studied are the standard metabolic parameters used in everyday clinical praxis and fewer scientifically oriented tests. The study will be designed in such a way that it will show the utility of the treatment of metabolic syndrome patients and pave the way for the full phase III program. The company is presently discussing with its partners the optimal design and preparing for FDA meeting.
